I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! It's the coolest thing ever. It's easy to use. It's light. I read more now 2. I have nothing bad to say about the kindle. I just absolutely love it.
I love my Kindle. January 6, 2009 Susan Ekkela (Wisconsin) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Kindle was my early Christmas present. Two months early. I am slightly techy. I use a computer, but don't text. I rarely buy the latest electronic gadgets. However, I love to read and this sounded very cool. What I like: I read more, buying books is easy and convenient, it is more comfortable to read with than a book, the dictionary is handy (I never looked up words before), the battery is long lasting, it is easy to carry and stores tons of book, and I can change the font size if I'm tired. What I don't like: It is way too easy to accidently turn the page, but you learn to be careful. I also don't like that there are no page numbers, although there are location numbers, which are helpful, but not the same.
fragile, dropped once and repair will be $180.00 January 5, 2009 R. R. Green 4 out of 9 found this review helpful
The Kindle is fragile and the case does not securely hold and protect the fragile Kindle. At the same time the case provides a false sense of security. You think the case is holding your Kindle. I picked my Kindle up, it slid out of the case, and fell on the floor. It only dropped once about four feet and now it is worthless. Only half the page loads and it contains a book I was in the middle of reading. Kindle support advises it will cost $180.00 to repair. I am retired and watched my Kindle like a hawk. I have the time to be careful, but what about someone who works and has kids? The Kindle should be designed so the case securely holds the machine. Customer Support answered my phone call promptly and professionally. This was a gift from my daughter and it makes me heartsick to have to tell her. I have only owned it a few months.
FREAKING BRILLIANT! January 5, 2009 V Simmons (Asheville, NC) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am speechless over this thing. I coveted it since it came out, finally got one a week ago and, unlike so many other things in life, it completely exceeded my expectations.
Very pleased January 5, 2009 Jean Fell (Kent Ohio) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was actually a gift for my husband's 60th birthday. He loves gadgets and reading, and getting books immediately rather than driving to the store. It's everything we hoped it would be, and we're looking forward to the fancier functions like adding notes.
